The New York State Attorney General has issued two Informal Opinions to the Attorney for the Davis Park Fire District.
An opinion as to the legal obligation of
the Davis Park Fire District (“Fire District”) to provide fire
protection outside its boundaries to the Fire Island National
Seashore (“National Seashore”),1 which is not located within the
boundaries of any fire district.
An opinion regarding whether boaters who
keep their boats at a marina for the portion of the year the marina
is open are eligible to volunteer their services to the Davis Park
Fire Department pursuant to General Municipal Law § 209-i (1-a).
